Description
Ensuring your mask stays clean to protect against the spread of COVID19:
- The wearer should ensure the mask has been appropriately washed and disinfected before and after each use.
- Wash in warm soapy water or pour boiling water over and leave for 5 minutes.
- Dry completely in a hygienic area before use.
- Lightly pressing with an iron can assist in disinfecting the mask.
Caution:
Fabric or ‘cloth masks’ do not fall in the same category as surgical or medical masks (PPE).
Cloth masks cannot prevent the risk of contracting the virus in aerosol form (as found in a contaminated atmosphere) since this requires the presence of very fine and highly specialised filters capable of trapping microscopic viral particles.
